This Privacy Policy explains how CarLog ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the CarLog mobile app (the "App"). By using CarLog, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the App:

• Account information: your name, email address, and profile photo (avatar), provided when you sign in with Google or with an email address through Firebase Authentication.
• Vehicle & activity data: the information you enter in the App — vehicles, fuel fill-ups, expenses, reminders, odometer readings, units and currency preferences.
• Push notification token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, used to send the reminder notifications you set up.
• Technical & log data: standard information such as app version, device type, and diagnostic or error logs that help us keep the service reliable.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Provide and maintain the CarLog service and your account.
• Store and display your vehicles, fuel logs, expenses and reminders, and calculate figures such as fuel economy and cost per km.
• Send reminder push notifications you have configured (for example oil changes, insurance renewals or inspections).
• Respond to your support requests.
• Detect, prevent and address technical issues and abuse.

3. Third-Party Services

CarLog relies on a small number of trusted service providers that process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase — Firebase Authentication (sign-in) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications). Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's privacy policy.
• Apple — distribution through the App Store and processing of in-app purchases. In-app purchases (such as unlocking extra vehicles) are processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment card details.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on our servers and with the service providers listed above. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and authenticated access — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and the data you enter for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we are required to keep certain records to comply with legal obligations.

6. Account & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@carlog.app from the address linked to your account. We will process your request within a reasonable period.

7. Children's Privacy

CarLog is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated within the App.
